I came by a love for travel naturally. Growing up, my father took us on as many adventures as my mother would allow. He capitalized on every opportunity, such as the time a relative moved to California. All of us were piled into the old van, decked with a fridge, drawers, two long seats re-arranged to face each other with a table fastened in between, and driven across the country.

As a witness to my Uncle's meanderings, I could recall being one of his captive audience as he sang about his journeys while playing the guitar. He told us tales that were foreign to my ears, but not to my imagination, embedding in me a craving to see and taste the world.

I have a lot of nervous excitement mixed with trepidation leading up to a trip. A lot can go wrong, but with some thoughtful and thorough preparation, traveling can be a seamless experience to remember. Nothing can compare to the fluttering thrill of seeing and experiencing a place for the first time.

My blog, 'travel tizzy' is a resourceful tool, filled with useful tips that will, hopefully, make your journey more enjoyable. I will include suggestions on what to avoid, so you don't repeat the costly mistakes I have made. At the very least, I hope you enjoy reading my travel tales and can explore, learn, laugh and live the adventure with me.
